What Are Cookies
Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website. They help the site function correctly, remember your preferences, and improve your experience. Coldread uses cookies and similar technologies as described below.
Cookies We Use
Coldread does not use advertising cookies. We do not serve ads, and we do not share cookie data with advertising networks. We do run PostHog product analytics on our own site, which sets a ph_* cookie. The cookies we use fall into the following categories:
What is set on your first visit: the PostHog analytics cookie (ph_*) is set as soon as you open the site. The theme cookie is set when you choose a theme, and the Clerk and Stripe cookies are set when you sign in or open the billing pages. We do not show a cookie banner and we do not ask for your consent before the analytics cookie is set, so if you would rather it was not there, block it in your browser using the steps below.

Cookie Categories
- Strictly necessary: Required for the site to function. These cannot be disabled. They include authentication cookies (Clerk) and payment security cookies (Stripe).
- Functional: Remember your preferences (such as theme choice). These improve your experience but the site works without them.
- Performance: Help us understand how the site performs. Vercel infrastructure cookies fall into this category.
- Analytics: Tell us which pages and features are used, through PostHog running on our own site. We do not sell or share this data.
Managing Cookies
You can control cookies through your browser settings. Most browsers allow you to block or delete cookies. However, blocking strictly necessary cookies will prevent you from signing in to Coldread.

No Advertising Trackers
Coldread does not use Google Analytics, Facebook Pixel, or any advertising or data-broker script. We do not share your browsing data with advertising networks or data brokers. We do use PostHog for our own product analytics, Sentry for error reporting and Vercel for hosting, all listed on our sub-processors page.
